I searched for an extension that shows new RSS-Feeds like Thunderbird shows new e-mails.

There are a lot of good extensions that offer notifications but all I found changed the look of all notifications in Thunderbird.

So I decided to write my own extension.

I will try to explain how this is done, in this blog.
